01Overview
All trophies are offline. Two are tied to difficulty: True Onimusha (finish the game on Carnage) and Glutton for Punishment (beat every Boss Rematch opponent on all difficulties). Nothing is missable, because free roam is available until the final mission and the post-credits Continue returns you before it. Estimates for the Platinum range from about 35 to 70 hours depending on skill and how efficiently you collect.
02Platinum roadmap
- Play the story on Action. Save citizens, explore with Oni Vision and buy the Oni Vision skills early. Avoid using rare revival items so they carry into New Game+.
- Before the final mission, clean up: collectibles, Chance Encounters, Mysteries of Kyoto, and maximum levels for Charms, Hozuki Pouches, skills and equipment.
- Finish the story to unlock Carnage and Boss Rematch, then use Continue to grab the final Genma Note.
- Start New Game+ on Carnage and finish the story again; your skills, Charms and pouches carry over.
- Beat all 18 Boss Rematch entries on every difficulty for Glutton for Punishment.

07The two gold trophies
True Onimusha requires a full Carnage clear in New Game+; with carried-over skills, Charms and pouches it is more about equipment re-upgrading and patience than raw skill. Glutton for Punishment is the real test: every Boss Rematch entry on every difficulty.
Trophy guides report that a Carnage rematch clear also counts for the lower difficulties, which would cut the work substantially—verify on your trophy list after your first Carnage rematch win. The Platinum itself is called Peerless.
