Pre-order bonus: what it includes and how to use it

The listed pre-order items are a charm and a cosmetic sword appearance; do not treat the latter as a combat upgrade.

01What the official listing says

Steam’s current store listing identifies these pre-purchase bonuses. Entitlements can differ by territory and storefront, so retain the order page for the exact SKU you bought.

PurchaseListed bonusHow it is described
Any pre-purchaseLion Dog charmA charm that strengthens Musashi’s abilities.
Any pre-purchaseSealed Curse sword appearanceA visual sword change; Steam says it does not alter battle performance.
Deluxe / Premium Deluxe pre-purchaseWhite Monkey charm + White Lion sword appearanceAdditional listed pre-purchase items for these edition tiers.

02How to use a claimed item

After the game unlocks, first confirm the purchase is shown as owned in your platform library. Progress until the relevant Equipment, Charms, Spirit Mirror or Change Appearance option is available; then open that menu, select the claimed item and confirm the equipped appearance or charm. If it is absent, restart the game once after the entitlement finishes downloading, then check the store add-on management screen before contacting platform support.

  • Appearance changes are visual; do not expect a damage increase.
  • Take a screenshot of the owned SKU and missing menu item for support.
  • Do not repurchase an item merely because a story-locked menu is not available yet.

03Avoid a common mistake

A pre-order item may be offered later by the publisher, and availability differs by store. Buy only from a storefront whose current description you can verify.

04What you get, and until when

Digital Standard still lists Charm: Lion Dog and Sword Appearance: Sealed Curse. Deluxe and Premium Deluxe add Charm: White Monkey and Sword Appearance: White Lion. Charms change how Musashi plays; sword skins do not. Both menus unlock as you find Spirit Mirrors — the items page is the loadout, this page is the calendar. When CAPCOM pulled the launch from 25 September to 4 September, the same press note converted the old pre-order cutoff into an Early Adopter window: keep buying through 24 September, or 25 September on Steam and Epic, and the bonuses still attach. Retail copy that still says “pre-order by 24 September 23:59 EDT” was written for the old street date. Trust the live storefront. Two million wishlists is a marketing number, not a review. It tells you the audience is large enough that day-one patches and store queues are worth planning for. It does not tell you the last ten hours are good. For that you still need September, and the preview roundup until then.

05Physical copies and the disc question

The official account confirmed a physical disc for PlayStation 5. That sentence exists because 2026 trained people to ask. Americas Steelbook ($74.99) and EMEA Lenticular / Premium Deluxe SteelBook SKUs still share the 4 September date. Switch 2 Steelbook in the Americas is a Game Key Card — a download code in a box, not 32 GB of game on the card. Check whether a regional Steelbook also includes the Deluxe digital kit before you pay the extra five to twenty dollars. The editions breakdown is the kit list; platforms is where each box actually plays. If the object is the point, order from a shop that still shows allocation. If the game is the point, digital Standard plus finishing the demo for Kubi Akari is the cleanest path into the first hour.

06Demo first, then money

Producer Akihito Kadowaki’s PlayStation.Blog closer in late August was blunt: try the demo, then buy if you enjoy it. Completing the file unlocks Kubi Akari *and* a Musashi stat boost in the full game — PlayStation.Blog’s 25 August briefing added the second clause, which older store copy omitted. Save progress still does not import. The expanded Oni Refuge and Daidara fight are the extra hour that June owners skipped. Wishlisting is free. Pre-ordering is cosmetics plus a calendar. Neither is a quality vote. If Lion Dog is the only reason you would pay before reviews, you can wait until the Early Adopter window and still collect it.

FAQよくある質問

Is the pre-order window already closed?

No. After the date moved, bonuses run as Early Adopter items through 24 September (25 September on Steam and Epic).

Does Deluxe add story?

No. Same campaign. Charms and cosmetics only. See editions.

Is there a physical disc?

Yes on PS5. Official social confirmed it. Switch 2 Steelbook in the Americas is a Game Key Card.

Do two million wishlists mean it is good?

They mean people are watching. Play the demo; wait for campaign reviews if you need a score.
