Accessibility and comfort settings

Build a setup that lets you read the fight, interface and story without exhausting yourself.

01Start with readability

Set subtitles, text readability, brightness and camera behavior for your screen and seating distance. Swordplay is easier to learn when the wind-up and UI are visible.

02Change one variable at a time

Test one change in the same situation twice so you can tell whether it really helped.

  • Subtitles and language.
  • Brightness and contrast.
  • Camera sensitivity.
  • Controller comfort and vibration.
  • Dialogue and combat audio balance.

03Ask the right question

Use PC Specs for performance, Controls for input comfort, Combat for mechanics and Walkthrough for route trouble.

04Languages and Story mode

The official Capcom product sheet lists text in Japanese, English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Russian, Polish, Arabic, Brazilian Portuguese, Latin American Spanish, Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese and Korean. Japanese and English voices are the billed dubs. Subtitle size toggles are normal on RE Engine titles; we will describe the exact steps after a day-one menu screenshot, not before. Story mode (活劇) is the published accessibility lever for combat: assists, a kinder read, the campaign still present. Action (剣戟) is the intended sword game. Producer Akihito Kadowaki told players who found the demo easy that later Genma would not stay that polite — Story exists so that sentence is optional. Closed captions for footsteps and gauntlet barks have not been confirmed in a Capcom menu list.

05DualSense, display, system-level tools

Nihei’s 25 August PlayStation.Blog interview is the DualSense source: haptics built from audio waveforms, adaptive-trigger draw on the Oni Bow, a full squeeze to seal a Rift, 3D audio from impulse responses recorded in Kyoto temples, speaker cues for soul absorb and the Oni Lady. Those are immersion features. They also give non-visual information if you want it. Xbox and keyboard still have full control support. PlayStation’s system zoom and Steam’s font-scale overlay still work on any 2D HUD. Use them if the in-game type is small. HDR is a Steam category. The platforms page covers Quality versus Performance if frame-rate smoothness is the accessibility need.

06What this page will not claim

Button remapping is typical of Capcom’s current RE Engine games; we have not independently verified that every action is unlocked from a single face button in this SKU. Colour-blind filters, aim assist, and a “motion smoothing does not persist across restarts” note were not sourced to Capcom or to a named previewer we can cite. They are off this page until they are. If you need a control home tonight, use Basic versus Active and Story mode.
